Description
Future space computing systems can be realized using space-based data centers. These space-based data centers are beneficial being independent of earth’s environmental resources notably water. Their environmental friendly operation coupled with an increasing deployment of space data acquisition assets alongside other space applications makes them suitable for future space based data processing. In this case, space-based data centers can be cooled using water obtained from asteroids. The use of asteroid resources in this manner requires the design and development of space resource access protocols. Such protocols should consider resource usage by entities in developed and developing countries. In addition, the coexistence of scientific and non-scientific interests should also be considered. The interests of a scientific study of asteroid mineral composition and their role in the universe system should also be considered. The presentation aims to discuss the aspects of the protocol that should be considered by all participating entities i.e., scientific interests, and non-scientific interests in developed and developing countries.
