Description

My fascination with the universe started at a young age, but the opportunity to explore the cosmos was limited in Liberia, my home country until I encountered the Pan-African Citizen Science e-Lab (PACS e-Lab). This online platform engages young people from Africa in research activities in astronomy. I have participated in several of their projects, including asteroid search, where I have made several preliminary discoveries that are now undergoing further studies by experts.

Recently, I have started exploring exoplanets by conducting observations and using the EXOTIC program to perform photometry on the data. The purpose of this research is to contribute to the periodic refinement of already discovered exoplanets, preparing them for missions like the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.

In my observations, I utilize robotic telescopes, such as the 0.4m Las Cumbres Observatory and the 0.15m MicroObservatory. I have observed and contributed to the orbital refinements of over 10 exoplanets.

I will provide more details about this research and how amateur astronomers from Africa can contribute to these projects during my participation in the AfAS 2025 conference.
