BLUEshift Africa

Dear colleagues,

We invite you to join us for BLUEshift Africa: a 2-day in-person workshop on teaching undergraduate astronomy, at the AfAS 2026 Conference in Kasane, Botswana (Saturday & Sunday, March 21-22, 2026).

In this professional development programme, you will learn interactive and inclusive strategies for teaching undergraduate astronomy, based in education research, and framed from an African perspective. This workshop is for any African lecturer or postgraduate student interested in teaching, with a particular focus on early-career scientists. Lead Facilitator Dr. Linda Strubbe brings wide experience in professional development in astronomy and physics education in Africa, North America, and beyond. Co-Facilitator Tabitha Alango is a BLUEshift alumna and has teaching and outreach experience in Kenya and South Africa.
